Meet our staff… Anela Tanovic (Receptionist, Sales, Conceirge and more)

Meet our staff

Anela joined our team in 2016. We were looking for an operations assistant and along came Anela who (unlike others we sometimes interview) was not pretentious about her academic achievements and having just finished university was looking to start working. Soon after she started a full time receptionist position was available and Anela was our new superstar on reception.

Anela was born and raised in Dubrovnik and has completed a Masters degree in Public Relations at  University of Dubrovnik with summa cum laude diplomma for excellency (grade average 4.958).

What do you like most about your job?

Working with people directly and to be the first person our guests encounter when coming into our hotel. My goal is to enhance their stay even more with a bit of my personal touch and to be the one who would make the atmosphere more jolly and welcoming so our guests could feel like at home

What are your top 3 places to visit or do while in Dubrovnik?

1.Lokrum Island – although not in the very city of Dubrovnik, Lokrum Island is just 10 minutes away by ferry and it breathes nature and history…especially if you are Game of Thrones fan 😉

2.Konavle is unique historical heritage site with unspoiled rustical ambient and traditional food. It is a must if you like embroidery and jewelry.

3. Pelješac penninsula is well known for it’s unmatched scenery, wine, seafood, especially clams and oysters and typically old towns, more city walls and salt flats.

Favourite Croatian dish/food/drink?

Black risotto. It is a risotto, it is black. And it is yummy! J

And when you combine it with a bottle of white Malvasija wine from Konavle it makes your taste buds explode.

Favourite restaurant or bar?

Restaurant Dubravka is just outside Dubrovnik’s historical Old City and while gazing at it’s walls from a beautifully decorated terrace you can enjoy excellent service and delicious food at relatively affordable prices.

Now, my favourite bar…is in a cave! Hotel More has a cave which was transformed into a unique and cozy bar where you can enjoy cocktails, while being completely surrounded by limestone.
